Technically Speaking – What puzzles you?

I’ve been having a blogging identity crisis. I’ve come up with a very long list of names for my blog and I think techietutor sticks. Why? Because it can encompass all that I’d like to do here; to set up a blog where I can do what I love to do – answer questions of a technical nature for the novice computer user in a way that anyone could, I hope, understand. Often times when I’m looking for the answer to a technical question the language makes it extremely difficult to follow and I consequently get overwhelmed and move on.

I hope that you will ask me your questions and I will make my best effort to answer them to the best of my ability. So, that is why I am asking — Technically speaking, what puzzles you? Please either comment on this post or send me an email. And pass on this link to your friends – I’d love to help them too.

The second thing I’d like to do on this blog is to offer personal tutoring. In this age of virtual relationships, I can help almost anyone from anywhere. If this is something that you are interested in, please comment or send me an email.

Thanks for your help!

  1. How do you make those cute buttons I see on blogs? Do you have to use a software program or is there a website that you can make them on? I have found a website that makes really small buttons but that’s it.

  2. Hi Lori,
The buttons you are talking about use some sort of graphic design software. I’ll look around for something for you and let you know if I find one for bigger buttons.
    Nikki :)

  3. I posted this previously in someone else’s thread (sorry):

I am brand new to xhtml, so this is probably an elementary question. I am using this command to link an email address:

    <!– email abc –>

For some reason this is opening another browser and opening the email program. What am I doing wrong?

  4. You can probably guess that my next question is going to be how to make an html command show up as text…
